Product Description:
ZEMDAP® – S is a fixed-dose oral antidiabetic combining Sitagliptin, a DPP-4 inhibitor, and Dapagliflozin, a selective SGLT2 inhibitor. Together, they offer broad-spectrum glycemic control by lowering fasting and postprandial glucose, with added benefits of weight management, blood pressure reduction, and cardiorenal protection. It’s ideal for patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus not adequately controlled with single-agent therapy or metformin.
Key Benefits:
-
Dual mechanism targets both renal and hormonal glucose regulation
-
Improves HbA1c, fasting, and post-meal sugar levels
-
Lowers body weight and systolic blood pressure
-
Minimal risk of hypoglycemia when used alone
-
Cardiovascular and renal protective effects with long-term use
How it works:
-
Dapagliflozin reduces glucose reabsorption in the kidneys via SGLT2 inhibition, promoting urinary glucose excretion.
-
Sitagliptin increases active incretin (GLP-1 & GIP) levels by inhibiting DPP-4, enhancing insulin release and suppressing glucagon in a glucose-dependent manner.
Together, they provide complementary and sustained glycemic control across the day.
How to use:
-
Take one tablet once daily, preferably in the morning, with or without food, as prescribed by your physician.
-
Swallow whole with water — do not crush or chew.
-
Maintain hydration and monitor blood glucose regularly.
-
Routine follow-ups advised to assess kidney function and overall control.
Safety Advice:
-
May cause mild urinary or genital infections — maintain hygiene and hydration.
-
Low risk of hypoglycemia unless used with insulin or sulfonylureas.
-
Monitor renal function periodically.
-
Do not skip doses; consistent use is important for sustained control.
Precautions:
-
Not recommended in patients with type 1 diabetes or diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA).
-
Caution in patients with renal impairment, recurrent UTIs, or pancreatitis history.
-
Avoid during pregnancy or breastfeeding unless medically advised.
-
Inform your doctor about all other antidiabetic or diuretic medications.
