Product Description:

FPM ACT® 200 is an advanced oral broad-spectrum antibiotic belonging to the carbapenem class. It is specifically indicated for the treatment of resistant bacterial infections that do not respond to conventional antibiotics. Faropenem has high stability against beta-lactamases, making it effective against gram-positive, gram-negative, and anaerobic bacteria.

Recommended in conditions like respiratory tract infections, skin & soft tissue infections, urinary tract infections (UTIs), ENT infections, and gynecological infections.

Key Benefits:

  • Belongs to the carbapenem group with enhanced β-lactamase resistance

  • Broad activity against multi-drug resistant organisms

  • Convenient oral dosage – suitable for outpatient therapy

  • High tissue penetration – effective in lung, urinary tract, skin, and gynecological tissues

  • Reduced gastrointestinal side effects compared to older antibiotics

How It Works:

Faropenem works by inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis, leading to the destruction of the bacterial structure. Unlike other beta-lactam antibiotics, it is stable against a wide range of beta-lactamases, including Extended-Spectrum Beta-Lactamases (ESBLs).

This makes FPM ACT® 200 an effective oral option against resistant infections.

How to Use:

  • Take one tablet twice daily, or as directed by your physician

  • Should be taken after meals to enhance absorption and reduce gastric upset

  • Swallow whole with water; do not crush or chew

Safety Advice:

  • Complete the full course even if symptoms improve early

  • Do not skip doses; irregular use may lead to resistance

  • Inform your doctor if you have a history of penicillin or beta-lactam allergy

  • Avoid alcohol during the treatment

Precautions:

  • Not recommended during pregnancy or lactation unless prescribed

  • Use with caution in patients with renal impairment

  • May cause mild gastrointestinal upset like nausea or diarrhea

  • Store in a cool, dry place, away from sunlight and moisture

  • Keep out of reach of children
