A Broad Spectrum Antibiotic Injection to Kill bacteria....Sugazidem Forte - Comprises of Ceftazidime, a broad-spectrum third generation Cephalosporin and Tobramycin, an aminoglycoside.Sugazidem Forte available in 1.120 g strength is a white to cream-colored crystalline sterile dry powder consisting of sterile Ceftazidime and Tobramycin packaged in tubular glass vials.It is administered as slow intravenous infusion.

Indications
It is mainly indicated for the treatment of patients with infections caused by susceptible strains of the designated organisms in the following disease:-
- Lower respiratory tract infections : Empirical therapy in hospital-acquired pneumonia (HAP) or nosocomial pneumonia, ventilator-associated pneumonia (VAP), and healthcare-associated pneumonia (HCAP) Empirical therapy in burns.
- Serious central-nervous-system infections (meningitis) caused by susceptible organisms
- Intra-abdominal infections, including peritonitis
- Skin and skin structure infections (SSTI) & Complicated skin and skin structure infections (cSSTI)
- Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD)
- Complicated and recurrent urinary tract infections
- Bacterial septicemia in the pediatric patients and adult
- Gynecological infections
- Chronic infections associated with cystic fibrosis
How it works?
Ceftazidime works by preventing the formation of the bacterial protective covering which is essential for the survival of bacteria in the human body.Tobramycin stops bacterial growth by preventing the synthesis of essential proteins required by bacteria to carry out vital functions.Together,they eradicate your infection effectively.
Combination - Ceftazidime 1000mg + Tobramycin 120mg Inj (Fortified with Solvent for Injection)
Dosage :
The usual adult dosage is 0.560 g to 1.120 g administered intravenously every 8 to 12 hours.The dosage should be determined by the susceptibility of the causative organisms, severity of infection and renal function of the patient.
