Product Description:

Cefolite®-CV combines Cefpodoxime, a third-generation oral cephalosporin antibiotic, with Clavulanic Acid, a beta-lactamase inhibitor. This combination expands the spectrum of action to effectively treat beta-lactamase producing bacteria, which are often resistant to regular antibiotics.

It is indicated in infections of the respiratory tract, urinary tract, skin and soft tissues, ENT, and gynecological systems.

Key Benefits:

  • Dual-action protection against resistant gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria

  • Treats bronchitis, tonsillitis, sinusitis, UTIs, and skin infections

  • Useful in community-acquired infections and mild to moderate hospital infections

  • Oral therapy with good gastrointestinal tolerance

  • Improved clinical outcomes in mixed bacterial infections

How It Works:

  • Cefpodoxime works by inhibiting bacterial cell wall synthesis, leading to cell lysis

  • Clavulanic Acid prevents the destruction of Cefpodoxime by beta-lactamase enzymes, thus restoring its antibacterial activity

This combination ensures broad and enhanced coverage against bacteria that would otherwise be resistant.

How to Use:

  • Take one tablet twice daily or as directed by your doctor

  • Preferably taken after meals to enhance absorption and reduce gastric irritation

  • Swallow the tablet whole with water

  • Complete the full course, even if you feel better early

Safety Advice:

  • Take at evenly spaced intervals to maintain consistent blood levels

  • Do not skip doses; incomplete courses may lead to resistance

  • Avoid alcohol while taking this medication

  • May cause mild nausea or diarrhea, which usually subsides on its own

Precautions:

  • Not recommended for patients with a known allergy to cephalosporins or penicillin

  • Use with caution in renal or hepatic impairment

  • Safety in pregnancy and breastfeeding should be evaluated by a physician

  • Store in a cool, dry place below 25°C

  • Keep out of reach of children
