Product Description:

CEFOLITE®-TZ 1.125 Injection is a powerful combination of Ceftriaxone, a third-generation cephalosporin antibiotic, and Tazobactam, a beta-lactamase inhibitor. This dual-action formula is effective against a wide range of resistant gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria, including strains that produce beta-lactamase enzymes.

It is used in hospitals and clinical settings for the treatment of serious bacterial infections such as pneumonia, urinary tract infections, intra-abdominal infections, skin and soft tissue infections, septicemia, and gynecological infections.

Key Benefits:

  • Broad-spectrum coverage for resistant infections

  • Effective against beta-lactamase producing pathogens

  • Once or twice daily dosing enhances compliance

  • Rapid onset of action with IV or IM administration

  • Trusted in in-patient and post-operative infection control

How It Works:

  • Ceftriaxone inhibits bacterial cell wall synthesis, leading to bacterial cell death

  • Tazobactam blocks beta-lactamase enzymes that render certain antibiotics ineffective
Together, they deliver enhanced antibacterial potency, particularly in resistant infections

How to Use:

  • Dosage and administration should be done only by a registered medical professional

  • Reconstitute powder with sterile water for injection as per instructions

  • Administer via IV slow injection/infusion or deep IM injection

  • Frequency and dose based on severity, infection type, and patient’s renal/hepatic function

Safety Advice:

  • Monitor for allergic reactions, especially in penicillin-sensitive patients

  • Common side effects may include injection site pain, mild diarrhea, or rash

  • Avoid mixing with calcium-containing IV solutions

  • Renal function monitoring is advised in prolonged therapy

Precautions:

  • Use only under strict medical supervision

  • Not to be used in neonates with hyperbilirubinemia

  • Adjust dose in patients with renal or hepatic impairment

  • Discard unused solution immediately after preparation
