Product Description:

DELIGHT®-HEPARIN 25K is a high-potency unfractionated heparin injection used to prevent and treat blood clots in various clinical settings, including deep vein thrombosis (DVT), pulmonary embolism, arterial thromboembolism, and during hemodialysis, cardiac surgery, and catheter flushing.

This formulation ensures rapid anticoagulant action, making it suitable for emergency care, ICU protocols, and high-risk cardiovascular cases.

How It Works:

Heparin enhances the activity of antithrombin III, which in turn inactivates thrombin and factor Xa, preventing the conversion of fibrinogen to fibrin—thereby stopping clot formation. Its effect is dose-dependent and fast-onset, especially with IV use.

Safety Advice:

• Close monitoring of aPTT, platelet counts, and bleeding signs is essential

• Avoid IM injection due to risk of hematoma

• Incompatible with some IV medications—use a separate line

• Antidote for overdose: Protamine sulfate

Precautions:

• Not recommended in patients with active bleeding, severe hypertension, or history of heparin-induced thrombocytopenia (HIT)

• Use cautiously in renal/hepatic impairment or elderly

• Contraindicated in intracranial hemorrhage, peptic ulcer disease, and surgical bleeding risk

• Store below 25°C, protect from light and freezing
