Pack Size: 10×10 Blister / Alu-Alu
Product Description:
ECODABIGAT – 110mg is an oral anticoagulant containing Dabigatran, a direct thrombin inhibitor used for the prevention of stroke and systemic embolism in patients with non-valvular atrial fibrillation (AF). It is also indicated for the treatment and prevention of deep vein thrombosis (DVT) and pulmonary embolism (PE). Dabigatran offers a safe, effective alternative to warfarin, with no need for routine INR monitoring.
Key Benefits:
-
Prevents clot formation in atrial fibrillation (AF) patients
-
Reduces risk of stroke and systemic embolism
-
Effective in treating and preventing DVT and PE
-
Fixed-dose oral therapy with predictable pharmacokinetics
-
No dietary restrictions or routine blood monitoring required
How it works:
Dabigatran directly inhibits thrombin (Factor IIa), the enzyme responsible for converting fibrinogen into fibrin, thereby preventing clot formation. By blocking this key step in the coagulation cascade, it provides rapid, targeted anticoagulant action without affecting platelet function.
How to use:
-
Take one tablet twice daily or as prescribed by your physician.
-
Swallow whole with a full glass of water; do not crush, break, or chew.
-
Can be taken with or without food.
-
Adherence is critical — missing doses may increase clot risk.
Safety Advice:
-
Risk of bleeding may increase — monitor for signs such as unusual bruising, gum bleeding, or dark stools.
-
Not recommended in patients with mechanical heart valves.
-
Regular kidney function tests may be needed during long-term use.
-
Avoid alcohol and NSAIDs during therapy unless advised by your doctor.
Precautions:
-
Use with caution in patients with moderate renal impairment or history of gastrointestinal bleeding.
-
Not recommended during pregnancy or lactation.
-
Avoid concomitant use with P-gp inhibitors or inducers (e.g., amiodarone, ketoconazole) unless advised.
-
Ensure your doctor is informed about any upcoming surgical or dental procedures.
Storage:
Store in the original blister to protect from moisture.
Keep in a cool, dry place and out of reach of children.
