Product Description:

FPM ACT® 300 ER delivers an upgraded dose of Faropenem, a powerful carbapenem-class oral antibiotic, in an extended-release formulation. It is designed to provide sustained therapeutic levels of the drug, ensuring consistent antibacterial activity over 24 hours with just once-daily dosing.

Effective against multi-drug resistant gram-positive, gram-negative, and anaerobic bacteria, this formulation is particularly suited for chronic and complicated infections like recurrent UTIs, respiratory tract infections, skin & soft tissue infections, and ENT or gynecological infections.

Key Benefits:

  • Broad-spectrum activity covering ESBL-producing bacteria

  • Extended-release action ensures prolonged efficacy and better compliance

  • Effective in acute and chronic bacterial infections

  • Suitable for outpatient and day-care antibiotic therapy

  • Convenient once-daily dosing

How It Works:

Faropenem inhibits bacterial cell wall synthesis, leading to bacterial death. Its high stability against beta-lactamases—including those produced by resistant organisms—makes it highly effective in difficult-to-treat infections. The ER formulation ensures sustained drug levels in the blood for improved outcomes.

How to Use:

  • Take one tablet once daily, after a full meal or as prescribed

  • Swallow whole with water; do not crush or chew

  • Maintain consistent timing each day for best results

  • Complete the entire course even if symptoms improve early

Safety Advice:

  • Do not take alongside iron or antacid supplements within 2 hours of dose

  • Avoid alcohol during treatment

  • Inform your physician about any history of penicillin or beta-lactam allergy

  • Report persistent gastrointestinal discomfort

Precautions:

  • Not recommended during pregnancy or lactation unless prescribed

  • Use cautiously in patients with renal or hepatic impairment

  • May cause mild GI upset, nausea, or rash in some cases

  • Store at room temperature, in a cool, dry place

  • Keep out of reach of children
