Product Description:

LINOZEM® contains Linezolid, a synthetic antibiotic from the oxazolidinone class, indicated for the treatment of severe gram-positive bacterial infections, including those caused by multi-drug resistant organisms such as MRSA (Methicillin-Resistant Staphylococcus aureus) and VRE (Vancomycin-Resistant Enterococci).

With its excellent oral bioavailability, LINOZEM® is a reliable alternative to intravenous therapy, making it ideal for step-down therapy in hospitalized or outpatient settings.

Key Benefits:

  • Strong activity against resistant gram-positive organisms

  • Ideal for MRSA, VRE, nosocomial pneumonia, and skin/soft tissue infections

  • Excellent oral absorption, comparable to IV use

  • Suitable for community- and hospital-acquired infections

  • Useful as step-down therapy post IV treatment

How It Works:

Linezolid inhibits bacterial protein synthesis by binding to the 23S ribosomal RNA of the 50S subunit, preventing formation of the bacterial translation initiation complex. This halts bacterial growth and replication, especially in resistant strains.

How to Use:

  • Take one tablet (600 mg) every 12 hours, or as prescribed by the physician

  • Can be taken with or without food

  • Swallow whole with water; do not split or crush

  • Duration of therapy depends on infection severity and patient condition

Safety Advice:

  • Complete the full prescribed course

  • Avoid concurrent use with SSRIs, MAOIs, or serotonergic drugs due to serotonin syndrome risk

  • Inform your doctor if you experience vision changes, neuropathy, or myelosuppression

  • Routine blood count monitoring advised for prolonged use

Precautions:

  • Use with caution in patients with blood disorders, renal or liver impairment

  • Not recommended during pregnancy or lactation unless clinically justified

  • Avoid foods rich in tyramine (aged cheese, soy, wine) during therapy

  • Store at below 25°C in a dry place

  • Keep out of reach of children
