Product Description:

PIROZEM-PLUS® 1.5g Injection is a powerful combination of Cefoperazone, a third-generation cephalosporin, and Sulbactam, a beta-lactamase inhibitor. This formulation is specifically designed to combat moderate to severe bacterial infections, especially those caused by beta-lactamase-producing resistant strains.

It is commonly indicated for the treatment of lower respiratory tract infections, intra-abdominal infections, urinary tract infections, skin and soft tissue infections, gynecological infections, and sepsis.

Key Benefits:

  • Broad-spectrum activity against resistant gram-negative and gram-positive bacteria

  • Effective for hospital and post-surgical infections

  • Combines bactericidal action with beta-lactamase inhibition

  • Enhanced dosing for more severe or deep-seated infections

  • Reliable clinical outcomes in critical care settings

How It Works:

  • Cefoperazone disrupts bacterial cell wall synthesis, leading to cell death

  • Sulbactam inhibits beta-lactamase enzymes that would otherwise inactivate the antibiotic
Together, they deliver synergistic action, restoring antibiotic efficacy even in resistant infections

How to Use:

  • To be administered only by trained medical personnel

  • Reconstitute with sterile water and administer via IV infusion or deep IM injection

  • Dosage varies based on infection severity, site, and patient condition

  • Frequency: Usually every 12 hours or as directed by physician

Safety Advice:

  • Avoid in patients with cephalosporin or penicillin allergy

  • Monitor liver function during prolonged use

  • May cause mild gastrointestinal disturbances or local injection site pain

  • Avoid mixing with calcium-containing solutions

Precautions:

  • Use under medical supervision only

  • Adjust dosage in hepatic dysfunction or dual organ failure

  • Store below 25°C and protect from light

  • Discard unused portion after preparation

  • Do not freeze the reconstituted solution
