Product Description:

SUGATAB® – M1 / M2 combines Glimepiride, a sulfonylurea that stimulates insulin secretion, with Metformin, a first-line insulin sensitizer. This dual-action tablet is indicated for patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) who require better glycemic control than either agent alone can provide. It is especially effective in patients with insulin resistance and suboptimal beta-cell function.

Key Benefits:

  • Targets insulin deficiency and resistance simultaneously

  • Controls both fasting and postprandial blood glucose

  • Supports HbA1c reduction and long-term glycemic control

  • Convenient once-daily dosing

  • Cost-effective solution for step-up diabetes therapy

How it works:

  • Glimepiride increases insulin secretion from pancreatic beta cells in a glucose-dependent manner

  • Metformin reduces hepatic glucose output and improves insulin sensitivity in peripheral tissues

Together, they offer complementary action for broad-spectrum glycemic control.

How to use:

  • Take one tablet once daily, preferably with breakfast or the first main meal

  • Swallow whole with water — do not crush or split

  • Dosage should be individualized by your physician based on blood glucose monitoring

  • Maintain regular diet and exercise for optimal results

Safety Advice:

  • May cause hypoglycemia, especially if meals are skipped

  • GI upset may occur early in treatment due to Metformin (usually temporary)

  • Avoid alcohol to reduce risk of lactic acidosis and hypoglycemia

  • Monitor blood glucose and renal function regularly

Precautions:

  • Not for use in type 1 diabetes, diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA), or severe renal/hepatic impairment

  • Use cautiously in elderly or debilitated patients

  • Avoid during pregnancy and breastfeeding unless advised by a doctor

  • Inform your physician of all other antidiabetic drugs, insulin, or diuretics being used

Storage:

Store in a cool, dry place below 25°C.
Protect from direct light and moisture.
