Product Description:

ZAPTOMYCIN® 300 is a broad-spectrum lincosamide antibiotic injection containing Clindamycin Phosphate, indicated for the treatment of serious bacterial infections caused by susceptible Gram-positive cocci and anaerobes. It is particularly useful in respiratory tract infections, pelvic infections, intra-abdominal infections, bone & joint infections, and sepsis.

How It Works:

Clindamycin inhibits bacterial protein synthesis by binding to the 50S ribosomal subunit, preventing peptide chain elongation. This bacteriostatic mechanism halts the spread of infection and supports the immune system in clearing pathogens.

How to Use:

• Administered by trained healthcare professionals only

• IM or slow IV injection/infusion based on clinical judgment

• Adults: Typically 600–1200 mg/day divided every 6–8 hours

• Dose adjusted according to infection severity, patient weight, and renal/hepatic function

• IV infusion should be given over at least 10–60 minutes depending on the dose

• Monitor for diarrhea or signs of pseudomembranous colitis
