Product Description:
ZEMDAP® FORTE is a fixed-dose triple combination of Sitagliptin, a DPP-4 inhibitor, Dapagliflozin, an SGLT2 inhibitor, and Metformin, an insulin sensitizer. This comprehensive therapy is designed for patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) who require intensive glycemic control. It addresses multiple metabolic pathways — improving insulin function, reducing glucose absorption, and increasing urinary glucose excretion — all in a once-daily oral dose.
Key Benefits:
-
Controls fasting and post-meal blood sugar levels effectively
-
Supports weight loss and lowers blood pressure
-
Reduces HbA1c without increasing risk of hypoglycemia
-
Provides cardiovascular and renal protective effects
-
Simplifies regimen with one convenient tablet daily
How it works:
-
Metformin reduces hepatic glucose production and improves insulin sensitivity.
-
Dapagliflozin blocks SGLT2 transporters in the kidneys, promoting urinary glucose excretion.
-
Sitagliptin inhibits the DPP-4 enzyme, enhancing incretin levels to stimulate insulin and suppress glucagon secretion in a glucose-dependent manner.
Together, they deliver complementary and sustained glycemic control while offering metabolic and organ protection.
How to use:
-
Take one tablet once daily, preferably with the first major meal, or as directed by your physician.
-
Swallow whole with water — do not crush or split.
-
Regular monitoring of blood sugar, renal function, and HbA1c is advised.
Safety Advice:
-
May cause mild gastrointestinal discomfort at the start — taking with food helps.
-
Maintain proper hydration to reduce the risk of urinary infections.
-
Monitor for signs of lactic acidosis or dehydration in high-risk patients.
-
Avoid excessive alcohol intake during treatment.
Precautions:
-
Not suitable for patients with type 1 diabetes or diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA)
-
Caution in patients with renal or hepatic impairment, heart failure, or history of pancreatitis
-
Not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding
-
Inform your physician of all concurrent medications, especially insulin, diuretics, or other oral antidiabetics
